NUCLEOFILL – A GAME CHANGER IN INJECTABLES?

It’s always exciting for me when a new product launches. I love researching and learning about the latest developments in aesthetic medicine. Sometimes the products don’t quite live up to the claims but every so often a new treatment solution comes along that really does seem to offer something new. Of course, when that happens there’s no way I can resist adding it to our range of services. At REclinic I want to offer a wide range of proven treatment solutions that can provide my patients with a genuinely tailored and bespoke plan that addresses their needs fully and helps them feel good about themselves.
Nucleofill – a new concept in biostimulation
When injected into the skin, Nucleofill works to create four different types of stimulation:
- Skin regeneration
- Cleansing effect on the cells by increasing circulation and removing free radicals
- Deep moisturising effect
- Firming and contouring
Here’s the science bit…Nucleofill is a new non-surgical treatment range of natural poly-nucleotide-based bio-stimulating high-viscosity gels, formulated to protect and rejuvenate the skin.
Let’s break that down into a simpler explanation.
Nucleofill contains highly purified polynucleotides. These are essentially organic compounds found naturally in the body, such as sugars, that are bound together in clusters. Known as the building blocks of DNA, these organic compounds act to help repair and restore cell function in our bodies.
In the case of Nucleofill, they have taken polynucleotides from the DNA of salmon and refined and purified them to capture their powerful regeneration and moisturising capabilities.
The substance is also highly viscose which means it’s quite thick and sticky so when it’s injected it attracts and retains water which is key to helping skin look plumper and refreshed.
Let’s take a look at the unique combination of three features associated with Nucleofill.
- Moisturising effect
The polynucleotides, the fragments of molecules that make up our DNA, have a biochemical effect that boosts hydration and improves the skin’s overall quality by thickening the tissue and protecting it from free-radical damage. The ability to retain water also helps improve hydration and create a refreshed appearance for the skin.
- Neutralises free radicals
Free radicals are essentially unstable atoms that damage cells and are responsible for facial ageing.
Nucleofill has a ‘free radical scavenger effect’, meaning that it reacts and neutralises free radicals.
- Bio-stimulation
Polynucleotides connect with multiple cell receptors, initiating a cascade of reactions. Most importantly it is to attract stem cells to the area. Stem cells are the body’s repairing cells. They repair tissue and encourage the formation of new capillaries which bring blood, nutrients and oxygen to your face. They also alter the structure of something called fibrils in our tissue. Fibrils are small, structural fibres which when stimulated by the polynucleotides result in an instant tightening and contouring of the tissue.
Does Nucleofill work?
A couple of months ago I attended a lecture and workshop on Nucleofill and I have to say, I was impressed. Very impressed.
As you can see from these before and after pictures of a patient I treated, there are significant improvements to the overall appearance of her skin after only two treatments.
The recommended frequency is to have two treatments with a gap of 2-4 weeks in between each session. In severe cases, this can be increased to up to four treatments at 2-4 week intervals. The effects last for up to 9 months.
Who should consider Nucleofill?
Due to its lifting and firming effect, Nucleofill is ideal for combatting the classic signs of ageing, such as sagging skin, a dull complexion and fine lines and wrinkles.
As it offers hydration at the deepest level you can see a visible lift in minutes. Nucleofill is not a dermal filler, so it’s perfect for anyone who wants improvement in skin texture and tone but wants to steer clear of volume.
Another great benefit is that there is also very little downtime and risk involved – great for those with busy lives (all of us then!)
Nucleofill can be used to address a range of skin issues including:
- Sagging or loose skin
- Dehydrated skin
- A dull, grey complexion
- Scars and stretch marks
- Lines and wrinkles
- Puffy skin and dark circles under the eyes
What effects can you expect to see?
The main effects that you can expect to see after a Nucleofill treatment are:
- Improved skin firmness and elasticity
- Reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
- A brighter, fresher complexion due to improved circulation and tissue regeneration
- A slowdown in facial ageing due to the removal of free radicals
Nucleofill is a great solution for treating the delicate skin around the eyes. It can help to reduce puffiness and improve skin colour and texture without affecting facial proportions.
What’s my verdict?
In short, I’m sold! Having researched the science, taken part in the extensive training programme and tried it out on test patients (and myself – well, you would, wouldn’t you?!), I am convinced that Nucleofill offers excellent results for anyone looking to rejuvenate their skin and combat the signs of ageing.
